THE JAMES CAIRD - AS A CARTOON

The Artist Nick Bertozzi has created a delightfully original, detailed, imaginative but well informed cartoon version of the James Caird story. It wittily covers the period from the arrival of the 28 men in three boats at Elephant Island to the decision to launch the James Caird on its 800 mile journey and the perils of the boat journey itself, culminating in safe arrival at King Haakon Bay. The drawings are skilful and the storytelling throughly amusing, pithy and enjoyable.
