SHACKLETON NEWS ARCHIVE
The exhibition, staged at Discovery Quay, Falmouth, was one of the most important events since The National Maritime Museum, Cornwall opened there in 2002.
The James Caird's presence seemed especially appropriate since the museum houses the important National Small Boat Collection, formerly at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. The museum also serves to display and interpret Cornwall's maritime heritage.
Certain details of the exhibition and photographs can still be located on the museum's website. For any further information, the The National Maritime Museum, Cornwall's telephone number is +44 (0)1326 313388.
