14/4/04 - National Geographic Society lunch in Washington D.C. to discuss David Mearns' proposed Blue Water Recoveries expedition to locate & dive on Endurance.
15/4/04 - Radio broadcast with National History Day competition successful entrants from McMurray Middle School in Pittsburgh.
5/5/04 - Played Joint host in Cambridge of launch party to celebrate the impressive SPRI exhibition Shackleton: The Hidden Collection.
28/5/04 - Attended The Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa ,to open its exhibition Antarctic Heroes: the Race to the South Pole. Dr Andrew Langridge master-minded the exhibition and stated that the James Caird was the star of the show.
31/5/04 - Travelled to Christchurch, New Zealand to see NZAHT friends; and to visit the Cathedral to see the Antarctic Chalice (on loan from the Chapel of the Snows, McMurdo Base, Antarctica).
11/6/04 - Attended the Geographical Club's traditional Whitebait Dinner at Greenwich (London) to celebrate its 150th Anniversary.
17/6/04 - Attended Annual Reception for the Falkland Is Association at Lincoln's Inn (London).
18/9/04 - Attended a dinner at Christie's in London in aid of the restoration of Discovery.
22-25/10/04 - Attended 4th Ernest Shackleton Autumn School, held at the Heritage Centre, Athy, Co. Kildare, Republic of Ireland.
